We all know what a simultaneous blessing and curse Yelp can be for small business owners. You throw a party when someone sings your praises and sales spike, then weep for days when sales trickle off after that one nasty review.
Keep in mind that a bad review on Yelp isn’t the end of the world. The key is to be sure that your positive reviews outnumber the negative ones.
Make adjustments to your business and customer service if there’s anything you can learn from your negative reviews, respond publicly and tactfully to any negative reviews, keep pleasing your customers, and be sure your marketing strategy includes asking your happy customers to leave positive reviews on Yelp when appropriate.
